ABout me

Where it started

I first got into editing back in middle school, making soccer highlight edits with beat drops and posting them on Instagram. I didn’t think much of it at the time — it was just something I enjoyed doing — but the response surprised me. The videos started getting a lot of views, likes, and comments from people telling me how good the edits were. That feedback stuck with me and made me realize editing was something I loved and wanted to keep doing, even if it was just as a hobby at first.

Soccer Edit - 2019

In high school, I signed up for videography classes mainly because I knew they involved editing. What I didn’t expect was how much I would enjoy the filming side. Through class projects like commercials and short films, I started to understand how much planning, shooting, and storytelling went into creating a finished video. I remember having fun on those projects, which made me want to push myself further.

That’s when I decided to save up money from two summer jobs — working as a camp counselor and on a pizza truck — to buy my first camera. As soon as I had it, I grabbed a friend and started filming. That was the moment everything clicked. Editing was still my favorite part, but now I was completely hooked on filming and creating full projects from start to finish.

Discovering filmmaking

First Edit with the camera - 2023

One of the projects that really shaped my confidence as a filmmaker was a short film I made in high school for a videography class. The assignment was to use green screen techniques, and I decided to push it further by creating a story where I shrink down and move through the world at a miniature scale. It was the most advanced editing I had done at the time and required a lot of trial and error to make the visual effects feel believable.

The finished film was submitted to a high school film festival, where it won an Outstanding Visual Effects award. That experience showed me that the time I was putting into editing and experimentation was paying off, and it motivated me to keep challenging myself creatively.

AWARD WINNING FILMMAKER

Once I realized how much I loved making videos, majoring in Film & Media felt like the obvious next step. When I got to college, I wasted no time. In my first semester, I made multiple short films for class and started taking on freelance projects at the same time. Seeing my work get real attention — especially from clients — was huge for me and confirmed that I was on the right path.

I began creating promotional videos for DJs, helping them build their brand and get noticed. At the same time, I made videos for my fraternity just for fun, without expecting much from them. Those videos ended up gaining a lot of traction on social media, which eventually led to me becoming the fraternity’s Social Media Chair.

Taking It Seriously

Sports has always been a big part of my life, and going all the way back to those early soccer edits, I knew producing sports videos was something I wanted to pursue seriously. I’ve had the opportunity to work as a student videographer for the University of Tampa’s athletic department. So far, I’ve filmed volleyball matches, swim meets, and soccer games, with additional sports coverage planned for the spring.

Before college, I also interned with the Bridgeport Islanders during my senior year of high school. While I didn’t produce a large amount of video content, the experience taught me a lot about how a professional sports organization operates. I sat in meetings discussing content ideas, helped with promotions, and even participated in events and parades alongside the Islanders’ mascot. That internship gave me a broader understanding of sports media beyond just filming.

Sports, Storytelling, and Real-World Experience

Right now, I’m focused on continuing to grow as a filmmaker, editor, and videographer by working across narrative film, freelance projects, and sports media. I’m especially interested in roles that allow me to combine storytelling, editing, and live-action production. Every project I take on helps me learn something new, and I’m excited to keep building toward bigger opportunities.
